The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is an American and Canadian four-year academic degree in the science and principles of nursing, granted by a tertiary education university or similarly accredited the school. Though one is eligible to sit for the licensing examination to become a registered nurse after graduating from either a two year program with an Associate's Degree (ADN) or from a four-year program with a Bachelor's Degree (BSN), the BSN prepares nurses for a professional role away from the bedside with coursework in nursing science, research, leadership, and nursing informatics.
The bachelor's of science in nursing, or BSN, is a common four-year undergraduate training program for entry-level nurses. BSN students also take registered nurse (RN) certification examinations, which allow them to practice as staff nurses after graduation. Nursing coursework is similar to an associate's nursing degree program, but BSN students also take university-required liberal arts and humanities classes, which provide the academic foundation needed for future graduate training.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program equips students with knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to practice nursing. It is designed to prepare clinically competent professional nurses. Upon completion of the program, nurses are able to utilize critical thinking in providing holistic nursing care and play a role as change agents in nursing practice and education in any health care setting.
This is a four-year academic program with a mandatory one-year internship. At the conclusion of the five years, students will be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse. There is a lot of nursing colleges in Pakistan offering BSN
